Parke County's first 18 hole Disc Golf Course is now ready to play! This course has white tee pads for beginners and people looking for a quicker round and blue tee pads to really challenge even the most experienced players. "Trees" is what you will think the entire length of the course b/c the whole course is wooded making it a unique course to Indiana. Every shot will make you think and after a few rounds a player will really know what their bag of discs can do!
Hole one starts behind our large shelter which is located on top of the hill overlooking the lakefront area. This hole tee's from on top of the hill to a creek bottom! Hole 2 tees from the creek bottom up a hill to the trails behind our shower house. The course then winds it's way through the woods and you will eventually find yourself teeing off by the lake on hole 5. Hole 5 shoots back up the hill and hole 6 brings you back down to the lake with the pin placements giving you a look at the lake in the background. Walk across a bridge to hole 7 which is a right dogleg along the edge of the lake. Once again hole 7 has pin placements on the edge of the lake from a picturesque few. Walk up the hill to hole 8 which is the longest hole of the course (for the blue pads plays from hilltop to hill top). Hole 9 is another right dogleg but opens up to a nice wide open green. Follow the trail back out to the open grassy area behind some campsites and go back towards hole 2. Hole 10 is around the corner from hole 2 and plays behinds some of our modern campsites (please watch for campers and people walking the trail). 11 begins similar to 10 but the fairway has a slight right turn into the woods. Hole 12 shoots perpendicular to 11 and is the shortest hole on the course, but still no easy feat! 13 plays back to the North. Follow the trail to hole 14 pads for a shot back down to the creek! Pin B on 14 is located on a cool little peninsula with an eight foot drop to the creek behind it! Hole 15 is on the hillside across from 14 (follow the trail across the bridge). 15 shoots from the hilltop down to the creek. You will finish on holes 16 - 18 in a line along the creek bottom! Nine bridges make this area easily navigable if you can keep your discs in the fairways! At the present time, after you finish you must use the trail on hole 1 to get back up the hill. Eventually we will build a staircase after the completion of hole 18!
We have discs for sale in our gatehouse and will soon be renting them to beginners!
